For a long time, many people were asking “Why isn’t Facebook using the hashtag feature?” It was bound to happen. Alongside popular social media services such as Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, and Pinterest, it has now been added to Facebook as well.
Twitter users are surely using it. It looks like it will be used a lot on Facebook too. It has already started to become widespread. It is especially often used in calls for unity in social events. It helps you find what you’re looking for quickly.
Users will now be able to use the “#” sign on Facebook to perform hashtag searches, and through those tags they will be able to see comments written by other members about events, incidents, or any campaign. In addition, they will be able to click on tags in posts made by your friends or Facebook pages you like, and hashtags used on other social networks such as Instagram will also be accessible in the same way.
For now, offered to a limited group of users, the hashtag feature will, in time, along with the new features that come with it, be available to all members of the social network.
