Creating a Facebook App

Hello,

In this post, I’ll try to explain how to create a Facebook Application. By the end of the article, you’ll see that creating a Facebook application isn’t very difficult. After the application is created, we will have two keys: App ID (Application ID) and App Secret (Application Secret) . It would be useful to note these keys down so we can use them in different operations in our upcoming lessons.

We go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps/ and create our application. This is quite easy; we just need to enter the application name and category.

Then, to note down some codes we’ll need later and enter some settings, we click the Settings link on the left.

On the page that opens, we click “Add Platform” and select “Website.”

After entering the site address, we click the Save Changes button.

Then, in the App Domains section, we enter the domains to which requests can be sent and save as before.

By the way, while we’re on this screen, let’s note down the codes at the top labeled App ID and App Secret. We’ll use them in the upcoming sections.

If we click the App Review link on the left and press the xxx Make Public button on the page that opens, we’ll have finished what we need to do in the application section.

Congratulations! Our application is ready. As shown below, we can see our application active on our developer page.

Some may ask what this application is for now. In our next article, we will automatically send the content we publish on our website to our Facebook page through this application.

In these and similar operations, to connect with Facebook, we need to create applications according to our needs and perform operations through them.
