Apple introduced its Siri AI-powered smart display, Apple HomeView, on October 13, 2026. The device, with a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, uses Apple Intelligence infrastructure. Pre-orders opened the same day at $299, and sales begin on November 13, 2026.
Pre-orders cover two models: countertop and wall-mountable. The device is available in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the UK, and the US through apple.com/store and the Apple Store app. In Singapore, pre-orders begin on October 15, while sales in South Africa will run through authorized resellers. HomeView is not being sold in the European Union because Siri AI is currently unavailable on iOS in the EU. Apple says it is working with the EU to find a solution on this issue.
Design and hardware
The desktop model combines the 7-inch display with a domed aluminum speaker base and a stainless steel tilt hinge. The device comes in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray, with a color-matched USB-C cable. The display offers True Tone and automatic brightness that drops from 500 nits to 0.3 nits; the interface adjusts the level of detail it shows based on the viewer’s distance. The body includes a 12 MP Center Stage camera, four beamforming microphones, and the A18 chip.
The wall-mounted version has the same display and features and is installed with three proprietary Schneider Home mounting brackets. The Power Mount USB-C Wall Connector is $59.95, the Power Mount AC Wired is $79.95; the Power Mount PoE Wired will go on sale in early 2027 for $129.95.
Siri AI and multi-user personalization
Apple describes Siri AI as an entirely new Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence: broad world knowledge, the ability to understand personal context, and the ability to see what is on screen. When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri AI can use personal context from apps such as Messages and Calendar and perform actions across apps. Conversations started on HomeView continue in the Siri app; history syncs across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro via iCloud.
HomeView recognizes up to six people by face and gives each one a personalized home screen with their own apps and widgets; shared photo albums and music remain available to the whole home. Guests without an Apple account can control smart home accessories, check the weather, set timers, and play music; they cannot access anyone’s personal data.
The company also explains the limits at launch. Siri AI runs in beta on version 27.2 of the HomeView software and works in English in launch countries. Canadian French support will arrive later in a free update. Some Apple Intelligence features that rely on server-side models have a daily usage limit; Apple says it will offer expanded access to these features for a fee in the future.
Entertainment, communication, and smart home
The audio system combines two full-range drivers in the display with a downward-facing woofer and two passive radiators in the base. According to Apple, computational audio powered by Apple silicon and real-time sensors continuously optimizes volume and bass response. The device supports Spatial Audio, multi-room audio with HomePod and AirPlay-compatible speakers, and Handoff.
On the communication side, it includes FaceTime and Center Stage, Intercom announcements to other HomeView and HomePod devices, Messages answered by voice or the on-screen keyboard, recipe conversion and hands-free timers, Find My, and Live Activities. The Home Camera face on the smart home panel can show up to nine live camera streams at once. With a supported iCloud+ subscription, HomeView recognizes people, familiar faces, pets, packages, and vehicles end-to-end encrypted. The device can also detect the sound of a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm and send an alert to an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
Privacy and materials
Apple says the Secure Enclave in the A18 chip processes camera and microphone data in separate execution environments that the HomeView software, apps, the user, and Apple cannot access. Personal content in apps such as Messages and Calendar appears only when a registered user is recognized by face and a paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and freshly unlocked. Siri requests are processed on-device or through Private Cloud Compute, which does not retain data.
Apple also announced the Apple Home Collection. Cameras, thermostats, temperature sensors, a video doorbell, and a door lock designed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric will go on sale starting in December 2026, with some accessories arriving in early 2027. Announced starting prices include the LG Video Doorbell Wired at $249.95, the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock at $349.95, and the Schneider Home Smart Thermostat at $199.95.
