Chrome 155.0.8059.84 patches 10 vulnerabilities, including a critical flaw

Google has released a new stable version of Chrome. Ten security vulnerabilities have been fixed; three vulnerabilities in the V8 engine and a critical bug in Prerender stand out in the list.

Google has released a new security update for the desktop version of Chrome. The stable release that came out on October 15 is numbered 155.0.8059.84/.85 on Windows and macOS and 155.0.8059.84 on Linux. According to the company’s release notes, this update fixes 10 security vulnerabilities: one critical, six high, and three medium.

The critical flaw in Prerender

The only record at critical severity is CVE-2026-110922. It is described as a use-after-free bug in the Prerender component and is listed with a score of 8.8 in the NVD record. Bugs like this can corrupt browser memory and allow an attacker to execute code when a crafted page is opened.

The high-risk group is in V8 and DOM

Three of the six high-severity flaws are in the V8 JavaScript engine: CVE-2026-110919 and CVE-2026-110921 are use-after-free bugs, while CVE-2026-110920 is a memory corruption bug. The remaining ones are memory corruption in DOM (CVE-2026-110913), memory corruption in the Core component (CVE-2026-110918), and memory corruption in SVG (CVE-2026-110917). NVD assigns most of these records a score of 8.8; the descriptions say that opening a crafted HTML page can allow an attacker to execute code inside the browser’s sandbox. In the release notes, Google notes that the V8 bugs were reported by multiple researchers; some of the records were reported by researcher Xinyang Ge.

Medium-severity records and how to update

The medium-severity fixes cover memory corruption in Workers (CVE-2026-110914), use-after-free in Compositing (CVE-2026-110915), and improper input validation in the Desktop component (CVE-2026-110916). Google says that details of most bugs are kept restricted until most users have received the update, which also makes attacks targeting the flaws harder. Because the new release is being rolled out gradually, it may take a few days for the update to reach your device.

To update the browser, you can open the three-dot menu in the top right, choose Help, and then open About Chrome; this page automatically checks the version and downloads a new one if available. After the download finishes, you need to restart the browser for the fixes to take effect.
