SQL Server 2008 “Saving changes is not permitted” Error
Quote:One of the most common questions from people who first install and try SQL Server 2008 was that after creating a table, when we want to make a change to the table, Management Studio doesn’t allow it and asks us to recreate it. The solution is actually very simple: by following the steps below, we can disable this feature.
We go into the Tools menu, choose Options, then go to Designers, and select Table and Database Designers. If we uncheck the Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation checkbox that is checked here, this feature will be disabled.
