Apple’s Siri AI is now available in five new languages

With the iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2, and visionOS 27.2 updates released on October 26, 2026, Apple opened Siri AI to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in addition to English. The feature is currently in beta.

To use it, you need an Apple Intelligence-supported device and a supported language setting. Apple notes that some features may not be available in every region or language.

Turkish coming by year-end

Apple announced that it will continue expanding language support. Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese are planned to be added by the end of the year.

Siri can now see on-screen content too

The new version uses personal context across messages, emails, and photos. It can draft an email from scratch, edit and share a photo group. Thanks to screen awareness, it answers questions about the content the user is currently viewing or performs actions on that content.

Invocation methods have also diversified: “Hey Siri,” the iPhone’s side button, or swiping down from Dynamic Island. On iPad and Mac, it integrates with Spotlight and system-wide context menus. On Vision Pro, it works with a 3D visual that appears when you look at it and start speaking. The separate Siri app syncs conversation history via iCloud across iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro.

Foundation models developed with Google Gemini

The new capabilities come from Apple’s next-generation Apple Foundation Models family. The models were developed with Google and Gemini; they run on-device and on servers via Private Cloud Compute. Apple says personal data is not stored or exposed to the company for requests processed server-side.

Siri AI already works with third-party apps such as WhatsApp and Audible. Drafting emails in Outlook, searching for assignments in Notability, or adding restaurant recommendations to Tripsy are also among the announced next steps.

European Union and age limit

Siri AI is not available on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS in the EU; Apple says it continues discussions with the EU on this issue. The assistant is not available to users under 13. Server-side features have a daily usage limit, and Apple says access will later be expanded for a fee.
